As a few of you may know, I have been going over the details of World Systems with CupcakeTrap over the past few days. While it is still getting hammered out, we do have a rough idea of how everything is going to turn out. However, if you have any ideas, plans, or just advice for world systems, I welcome you to share it within this thread.

With the new Nyroth suggestion thread on Reddit, I think it would be cool if you could do research based on the newly discovered species of plants and animals. I don't know if there are any botanists on course to Nyroth, but maybe we could just sell some of the "fruit" there and put a disclaimer warning of indigestion and make tons of money. Another thing I would think would be cool is possibly having a bonus based on who the leader of the faction is in the politics system. Since Nami is the leader of Bilge, we could get a +10 bonus to petition the League to help find a useless object that some hapless fish people want.

Currently Research is too much important, to the point that factions with low Research are very disadvantaged. I think this is not only unfair, but it is also illogical. For example, why Research should have to do with a project that doesn't do research? I propose that the resources used to determine the progress of a project have to be those most appropriate to the project itself. And also that up to two resources can contribute to 50% of a project progress. Using the projects proposed to Bilgewater as example: - The Moonstone: this is a right example of a Research project, so it's good as it is.
- The Atlanteans: if the search of the Atlanteans will involve sea exploration, than it could be a Research+Navy project, or it may simply be a Research project.
- Volcanic Forge: this is definitely an Industry+Research project.
- Skyships: same as Volcanic Forge.
- Reformist Bounties: this one is a right example of a non-Research project. This is a Navy or maybe Navy+Espionage project.
- Letters of Marque: this is a Navy or Navy+Commerce project.
- Pyrikhos Smuggling: I think this is a Espionage+Commerce project.
What do you think of this idea? It's simple, but I think this could even more different factions and emphasize more the different strengths.

So hey Nagga just an idea for an Espionage option maybe you could do like a "Start rebellion thing"? It could be something along the lines of creating dissent with the factions leadership and it would be hard to pull off but it could maybe make is so that the factions next petition could have a huge decrease or something along those lines (maybe it'll will mess up something lore wise or whatnot I don't really know.) . It could also be easier to succeed at this if the faction you were targeting had different options for leading factions within that faction (IE Bilge and Frejlord). Just a small idea I had.

What do you think of this idea? It's simple, but I think this could even more different factions and emphasize more the different strengths. I posted this before the release of the new World System, so not everything is still valid, but I think some suggestions may be taken into account. For example, this solution may alleviate the pain of being at disadvantage. Consider the current SI situation: they are frustrated not only because they are the last, but mostly because they cannot make any progress. Why? Because they have low Research. Ionia, instead, is ahead in the project because they have high Research. It isn't good to lose, but Ionia can keep going well because of that advantage. If a faction at disadvantage could at least make progress in the area where they are strong, there would be less frustration to go wrong. Currently the only areas with a sense of progress are Research (above all) and Industry. Espionage can give a one time satisfaction and Commerce may temporarily offset the deficiencies, but they don't have the same influence as Research, and the various projects associated with it, can have. If you split the projects between different areas, as I suggested, and allow the possibility to follow different projects if they use different resource (like Research and Industry now), then the factions which are going wrong can still make progress in the area where they have strong basic.
